The 1975 have partnered with Amazon to create ‘Mindshower’ a virtual space for fans to get away from the more hectic side of the internet.

The video for their new track “The Birthday Party”, one of eight singles to be taken from their new album “Notes on a Conditional Form“, featured Mindshower, a digital detox space Amazon Music has now brought to life online.

Fans are directed to “learn, create, share” in a virtual room, with features including readable fanzines giving insight into the band penned by collaborators including set designer Tobias Rylander and producer John Gilmore.

Users can also access music and artwork from the group’s new record, as well as uploading remixes and new artwork that can be entered into a competition to be part of The 1975’s marketing campaign for the new record.

Discussing the new venture, the band’s manager Jamie Oborne tells Music Week, “We wanted to offer the fans a unique insight into the world of The 1975. Using the creative from The Birthday Party video, we worked alongside Amazon Music to create an experience where their fans can not only learn more from the band, but also use this information to create and share their own content.”

The virtual space is also compatible with Amazon’s Alexa, with an audio guide accessible by telling the virtual assistant, “Alexa, enter Mindshower.”
